Eeshk, because I finished a book, I now have to make a new one – this is like actual work with my brain, or should be. It is quite scary to be back in the early development stages again, after over a year, although (with a lot of help from most excellent people at Walker) it is just beginning to feel like it might possibly be possible in the end.
These monsters were originally invented for our MA show catalogue, but now they need another book to live in. For one thing, a brand new mountain of amazing graduates is about to take over the world: their London show is at Candid Arts, Islington, from 11th-15th February.
Next time Evie, choose your own drawer-handles – I printed SIX options.
I thought this project might kill me AND never get done, but here it sort-of is, a handprinted book about giraffes. It’s not how it was meant to be at all (apart from the cover) as I have never done this sort of screen-printing before, drawing onto drafting film to make the positive for the light blue layer, and it kept being under- or over-exposed so it’s all patchy and weird. But, it is some giraffes on some paper and that is something to hand in for my MA, maybe I will have another go after my deadline.
Ooh, in other news, LOAf is now available from Etsy, and is in the window of Foyles, where also our MA show will be from the 4th to the 9th of February. Also, HAPPY CHRISTMOUSE!
It says it won’t stop raining all day. Good weather for herding fictional giraffes I suppose.
