Further Advent-yures

Original post: Mm, dubious title. Anyway, it’s the second of December! The traditional day for Becky and me to start late on our Advent comic! Howzat? Mm, middling. Previous years’ comics are here and also soon to be available as actual paper objects in the olde physical world (see below).

We will be selling 2014 and 2015 editions (plus variegated other stuff) on the Brolly Lolly table at House of Illustration’s Illustrator’s Christmas Fair on December 10th. 2013’s pie-based comic has to wait because we cannit find the proper files, curses!

Llamas and monkeys

I have known for a long time that it would definitely be good for me, in all manner of ways, to do concerted doodling every day. But there are always MANY THINGS to do – and they often wear more important-looking hats. However, this seems to be mostly where stories come from. So, despite all the THINGS, this year I am really trying to do it every day. Here are some of the llamas and monkeys that happened so far.

LOAfs for sale, get yer LOAfs

In Bristol, Cambridge and London you can now buy your very own LOAf magazine, featuring such fearsome comics as Lesley and Marvin and the Llamas de Muerte. On Wednesday, in sideways rain, LOAf caught ten buses, a tube and a train and got himself stocked in various fine London
emporia such as The Big Green Bookshop, Gosh! Comics, Eggs Milk Butter, Ti Pi Tin, Muswell Hill Bookshop and Cabbages and Kings. Bonanza! Your LOAf awaits. Also do come to the Cambridge launch if you can because it will be GRAND.

Fiesta!

I just picked up some new party invitations which I illustrated for Earlybird. The invitations are quite small so not all of the cats and pirates I drew made it into print. This may be why the cat-band’s frontman is displeased: as you will see below, his percussionists have gone off without him. Now, who’s going to finish my dissertation so we can have a party?
