Sizo and Dad

Sizo and Dad were flying a kite on a hill above their house when they saw a hot air balloon. ‘What’s that rocking around in the basket Sizo?’ asked Dad, Sizo thought it was an ‘ELEPHANT!’

Ballooning/elephant on house incident

Above is the text from the spread before this one (this one is wordless). There is some more from Sizo and Dad and the no good house in the Llamas section. Clearly, Sizo and Dad are not llamas but yellow mammals of indeterminate species – I am making one at the moment and they seem to be made of velour.

Cards by me in a shop!

Earlybird – a card company at the forefront of elephant-design, based in a small blue shop in Stoke Newington – has printed 16 cards of my drawings. Some of them were originally birthday cards but most were tiny sketchbook beasts, now enlarged beyond their wildest imaginings. They are 62.5% animal and 31.25% monster.

Story houses

My next project is a story about some animals who – due to an unfortunate incident with an elephant – are obliged to find a new house. Several of the houses from my Tiny House project will be in the story, including this chicken house and this yacht on legs. The caravan bonanza that was Selfridges’ westernmost Christmas window is not in the story, but it was a splendid housing scheme and I hope more architect’s model than art.
