Is most of the text of Bears, by Ruth Krauss and Maurice Sendak – that’s a good book. Anyway, here are some bears:
I have never been very happy with the bears I’ve drawn before, so I thought I’d investigate the world of long-nose bears. And I like it.
Okay so some of them are geese. The maths is because he rode over a list I was writing.
Then I screenprinted one bear for birthday purposes, though I’m not sure he’s got a proper grip on that balloon.

Foxes eating pizza: new birthday cards
I’ve drawn three new cards for Earlybird: bearded men trampolining, balloonist beasts and a foxes’ pizza-party. Some of my original cards sold out (weird to think hundreds of people have been given my drawings, and cool – I hope they all had good birthdays/babies/sundry other life-events), so they reprinted those and commissioned these while they were at it.
Apparently, foxes are in, along with squirrels and owls. Owls are so above fashion though, surely? And I say foxes are never less than hip.
In other news, LOAf magazine has got half of its people-funding already, which is splendid! Please add a crumb or crust to the bread-basket if you can, it will undoubtedly make you more of a man.
By the way, I didn’t mean to imply squirrels were just a fad.
Sizo and Loris and the very good cake
I am so overwhelmed by this stunning birthday cake from my good friend Love & Cake, featuring Sizo (from Sizo and Dad and the no good house) in my boat Loris. We already ate the ocean, which sounds like something The Tiger Who Came to Tea might do. It tasted infinitely much better than oceans usually do.
